The Runaway Couple

Year 1996. A couple aged forty something came to my house. They humourously told me their story. They said that their habit had been passed on to their son. According to them, they had the habit of leaving home and went back to parents’ house for a few days after a quarrel. Husband would go back to his father’s house while the wife would leave for her mother’s house. When the other half called and requested he or she to return home, he or she would do so as if nothing had happened.

This had been their practice ever since their wedding day. More than 20 years had passed. They admitted that both of them were bad tempered persons, and leaving home for a couple of days was a good method to resolve dispute. However, there was a period of 3 months once which had become a record. Family members of both sides came out to help calm down their temper. They said only by then they realized that being at odds with the partner would make many relatives worry. They insisted that they felt sorry for that. But when they were relating the incidents they laughed heartily showing that they had had nothing to feel sorry about.

The couple finally told us the story about their second son. The son and his wife started to quarrel just half a year after marriage. As they had not purchased their own house, the son, together with the wife, continued to stay with the parents. As such the wife often left the house to stay with a friend for a few days and proceed to her mother’s house, after a squabble broke out between her and the husband. The couple felt tormented as such cases occurred again and again between the son and the daughter-in-law. That was the reason that brought them to our office. They wanted us to examine the Feng Shui of their home. We were serious. So I asked the couple whether similar type of drama were still taking place. “Not so much as before,” they laughed. That was an indication that they did not stop such behaviour. “Your deed will surely make people close to you worried and unhappy. Why do you carry on with it?” I asked. We were emotionalized, “ the couple replied, “we just cannot help.” However, the couple said, of late, their “runaway” period would be shortened to just one night. They would meet again the next day with smile.

They heard people said that such happening could have something to do with Feng Shui. They did not believe it. So they never engaged a Feng Shui master to do a checking. Now, they wanted a check for their son. We did as requested and finished the following report. Feng-Shui Check: The percentage showed nothing wrong; everything normal. Airflow Check: Since the first 2 checks revealed nothing abnormal, we carried on with the third check. We checked each and every room in the house. We found the son’s room and the owner’s room giving problems. Finding: The master bedroom was particularly gloomy and cool with heavy humidity. We use our compass to ascertain the degree of humidity. We placed the compass on a place 4 ½ feet above ground to get the normal reading.

Record of Feng-Shui Studies: The degree can be obtained if the compass is placed correctly and 3 feet above ground. Should the needle of the compass jumps up and down, it was the humidity that exerts effect. Termites will appear under such condition. So we asked the owner whether they came across any termites. He told us a termites nest was found in his room before. According to him, all the termites were fierce ones, they managed to crack even the hard floor tiles. We looked through the window and noticed one mango tree was planted there. It added humidity to the room.

We then proceeded to check the son’s room. It was hot and stuffy. We used our compass to find out the degree. We only managed to get the degree readings after spending 45 minutes in it. Our electronic compass showed disturbances at first, irrespective of which correct angle we placed it. We then lowered the height to 2 feet. The normal degree was found there. According to the compass analysis, the hot and stuffy feeling was due to dryness of the ground. Charcoal or some substance that did not absorb water could be there under-ground. To find out the peculiarities of the rooms, we also use a thermometer to find the temperature. The temperature of the master bedroom was 5 degree below normal, while the son’s room was 4 degree above normal. Feng-Shui records denote such rooms as “Merciless Room”.

Explanations from Feng-Shui Studies: This type of house would produce a type of residents that are very moody when encountering difficulty, however small it may be. Their emotion will return to normal after leaving the house for 2 days. They know they are being moody but could not control it as they wish. They have to leave the house once and again as a remedy.

Checking of date of birth: The effect of date of birth, in relation to the owner’s marriage, can be said to be up to 50%. Therefore, even if the date of birth of the couple were not compatible, they would have frequent quarrels but would not end up in divorce. They would sleep in separate rooms when they reach old age. As for the children’s date of birth, the effect can be up to 72%. According to Feng-Shui records, a couple could be divorced 3 years after marriage; no killing would take place.

Highlight: We came across a couple who were affected by 86.4%. Feng Shui records noted that such couple could kill each other. For one reason or other, they did not have their house’s Feng Shui adjusted. Years later, newspaper reported that the whole family died for unknown reasons.

Suggested Remedies: In the master bedroom: install an air-dryer, so as to convert humid airflow into clear and cool airflow. Cut down the mango tree, let sunray shines into the bedroom, clear away humidity, odour and germs. For children’s room: place a basin of water or fix vapour fan, so as to reduce degrees.

Results, After conducting Feng Shui Adjustment to their home: Half a year later, the couple told us that they had no more quarrel, and no more incidence of “runaway” despite some arguments. They jokingly told us that they regretted the “tradition” had stopped and it was a pity. We told them not to follow our advice if they wanted to resume their “tradition”. They laughed heartily. “We had enough of that,” they said.
